The Francis I Proctor Foundation at the University of California, San Francisco is conducting a research study to determine if taking a medication called azithromycin can help treat COVID-19 disease. Azithromycin is a common antibiotic used to treat many common bacterial infections and may have antiviral and anti-inflammatory activities.
We are looking for participants who meet these criteria:
- Have a positive COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 test in the last 7 days
- Are not currently hospitalized
- Are able to receive study medication by mail and complete brief online or telephone questionnaires (or have someone who can help you do so)
- You are at least 18 years old.
