Azithromycin for COVID-19 Trial, Investigating Outpatients Nationwide (ACTION)

The Francis I Proctor Foundation at the University of California, San Francisco is conducting a research study to determine if taking a medication called azithromycin can help treat COVID-19 disease. Azithromycin is a common antibiotic used to treat many common bacterial infections and may have antiviral and anti-inflammatory activities.

We are looking for participants who meet these criteria:

  1. Have a positive COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 test in the last 7 days
  2. Are not currently hospitalized
  3. Are able to receive study medication by mail and complete brief online or telephone questionnaires (or have someone who can help you do so)
  4. You are at least 18 years old.
