Dr. O’Brien is a global health epidemiologist with a particular interest in implementation research. Her research involves the design, implementation, and analysis of randomized controlled trials to evaluate community-based interventions to improve access to care in underserved settings. In particular, her work includes trials evaluating community health worker interventions to prevent blindness in India and Nepal and the impact of azithromycin distribution in child health outcomes in West Africa.
