Dr. Acharya is the Director of the Ocular Inflammatory Disease and Uveitis Clinic and specializes in the diagnosis and management of patients with infectious and inflammatory eye diseases. She has experience with the latest medical and surgical treatments for uveitis. To optimally care for her patients, Dr. Acharya uses a collaborative approach, working with rheumatologists, internists, dermatologists, pulmonologists and pediatricians.
Dr. Chan’s clinical practice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with infectious and inflammatory diseases of the ocular surface and eyelids. This includes patients with corneal ulcers, ocular cicatricial pemphigoid, Sjogren’s syndrome, blepharitis, and meibomian gland disease.
Dr. Doan is the Director of the Ralph and Sophie Heinz Laboratory. Her current research focuses on the identification of infectious and autoimmune causes of uveitis in collaboration with Dr. DeRisi (Biochemistry) and Dr. Nisha Acharya. In addition, she works with Dr. Lietman, Dr. Van Gelder, and Dr. Susan Holmes (Biostatistics) to characterize and understand how the ocular surface microbiome (bacterial and viral communities) changes in response to clinically relevant perturbations.
Dr. Gonzales's interest involves the diagnosis and management of infectious and non-infectious inflammatory conditions of the eyes (uveitis). Many ocular inflammatory diseases are part of a systemic disorder and require a complete review of one’s health, personalized treatment, and close monitoring. Working as a team with a patient’s rheumatologist, internist, pediatrician, or other subspecialists ensure that his patients receive optimum care.

Dr. Lietman specializes in the diagnosis and management of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the conjunctiva and cornea, in particular conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers.
