Working Together to Prevent Blindness Worldwide
Our mission is the prevention of blindness worldwide through research and teaching focused on infectious and inflammatory eye disease.
Founded in 1947, the Francis I. Proctor Foundation is an internationally recognized research and teaching unit at UCSF. Our basic, clinical, and translational scientists work side by side, partnering with collaborators across more than a dozen countries to understand, prevent, and treat the eye diseases that cause the most preventable blindness.
Our team brings together faculty, clinicians, and affiliated researchers from across UCSF and beyond. Explore the groups below to learn more about the people who make this work possible.
